5) Accept your strengths vs weaknesses

Highlight your weak points and start working on them. If you can’t solve your problem, ask yourself, "what would my mentor do in this situation?" Often by placing ourselves in someone else’s shoes can we allow ourselves to be more creative in our thinking.

  • Create your personalized Strengths Vs Weaknesses exercise sheet. Draw a large T on a piece of paper so that it fills the page, with just enough room at the top to make 2 separate titles. Once this is complete, fill in the two sections with strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ask yourself, "what skills do I already posses? What skills do I wish to aquire? What are some small steps I could take this week to start achieving these skills?" Make a time to do the this.
  • If you get stuck filling in your strengths vs weaknesses, ask yourself, "what do I wish to do?" Now think of a mentor for the situation and ask yourself what they would do.

6) Small steps to achieve your goals

Design your successful road map by taking small steps. Rome was not built in one day and your dream plan will also take some time. You must give preference to quality over quantity. There is no need to rush into anything. Otherwise, you will spoil the essence of the whole journey.

Take small breaks from your work. Go out for a weekend trip with your friends and family. Make small targets and celebrate all small achievements. Start staying away from all the things that will deviate you from your real path. Don’t get carried away by the lavish lifestyle of people, don’t waste time on ‘overnight success’ stories. In the long run, there is no shortcut to a successful life. Always remember one thing: slow and steady wins the race.

  • Allow yourself a holistic view. Create a schedule so you do not become obsesed in your work and have no time for family or friends.
  • The more milestones you create, the better. A great way to feel success is to pass a milestone we have set.
  • Come to the understanding that the more you do, the more it pays off. It can take time; be persistent.
